Saddle Hut

acclimatisationSaddle Huts is a high-altitude accommodation stop on the Mount Meru trekking route in Arusha National Park, located at approximately 3,570 metres above sea level. Positioned between Little Meru and the main Mount Meru peak, the huts offer dramatic views and a true alpine trekking experience.

The huts provide simple dormitory-style accommodation with basic facilities, serving as the final base before the summit attempt. Due to the altitude, temperatures are cooler, and the landscape becomes more rugged, offering trekkers a sense of adventure and isolation.

Saddle Huts is also the starting point for a short acclimatization hike to Little Meru, which rewards climbers with stunning panoramic views of Mount Kilimanjaro and the surrounding plains. It is an essential stop for those preparing for the early morning summit push to Socialist Peak.
